anyone have a el tigre 6000

how much faster is the 80 eltigre 6000 over the 79 6000 i know they upgraded to a 500cc from a 440 i was told that the 500s were around 90hp up from 75 hp from the 440 but the 440 is actually a detuned motor from a 440z racer wich was 105 hp stock

i doubt the 500's were around 90 hp, a 94' polaris 440 xcr had 65 or so hp from the factory, and a 650 triple rxl only had around 106 hp....

theres some thing most people don't know about the later cats before they went out of bussines. They were faster than mercs A stock 1977 z 440 pdc racer had 105 hp they used the bottom end exactly as it was in the racer took out two ports per cyl used smaller carbs 34mm down from 38mm and a single exhaust. my freind has a 90 400 indy and he put that against the cat and it ate him up. the previous owner raced it against a 500 triple centurion and spanked it too. ski doo also had highpower machines ever seen a 340 cross country t'nt r.v. 95 horse power fast as hell but not for long they snapp cranks alot

Funny you mention a snapped crank. I was w.o.t. on a 1970 440 TNT doing 70 ish, and the crank grenaded. It happened to be colder than snot at the time and it was long walk home that day.
