    200x rear end problem

well i think the bearings are shot or something.. it shakes if you push it sideways and it aint the axle nuts...and if you look on the sprocket side and do it..you can see the axle just kinda wobble..not very much but enouugh to notice..is that the bearings?? how much do they cost and is it hard or time consuming to fix?

how about the splines for the hubs? Mine are a little worn and they wobble a little bit, but they work fine.

It is the bearings and it's a fairly easy and cheap fix.

it really sounds like your axle bearings are ed. they are not hard to change out. but if you are going to change the axle bearings you might as well change the swing arm bearings as well. if you look on ebay you can find a set of bearings and seals for about $20, which isnt bad. dadsteck sells a full swingarm pivot bearing package minus the bolt, item number on ebay is(one of many he has)4549055124. if the swing arm bolt does not come out easy you may have to smack it with a sledge to get it out(this is what I had to do to get mine out) then buy a new one from bikebandit.com.

one thing to look for when you are changing the axle bearings is there is supposed to an axle collar between the 2 bearings, this helps support the inner ring of the bearing so they dont flex inward when you torque down on the axle stay nuts. also the bearings used in all atc/atv/dirtbikes use sealed bearings, most people take out the inner seal and stuff a whole bunch of grease in there thinking that its helping the bearing last longer. this does not work, it just creates a big mess when you have to change bearings again.

the only grease used when putting the bearing in is on the very outside of the bearing and seal to help them slide in a lot easier.

the swing arm pivot bearings is a whole nother story when it comes to grease, cram them with as much grease as you can put in there, the more the better.

after all the bearings are changed in the swing arm and rear end everything should be nice and tight, no tipy motion, no sloppynes or anything. a good rule of thumb that I go by, the day before you go riding put your trike on a something to get all three wheels off the ground. go around and check for loosness in the axle by grabbing the axle and lightly moving it, if it moves in any direction beside rotating foward or backwards the bearings need replaced.

to check the swing arm bearings grab the back of the swing arm and if it moves side to side, the swing arm bearings need replaced.

the front wheel bearings, if the wheel can be tilted side to side they need replaced as well.

these are all wear out points/maintenence locations. if every bearing is replaced when needed, there should never be any trouble getting anything apart to work on it

Good luck with the swingarm bearings...What a pain! $60 for the swinger bolt on bikebandit. It's getting harder and harder to find them cheap on ebay. My suggestion to you is...If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Axle bearings are alot easier and cheaper.
