Your dyno guy's wrong. The new YZ's won't even turn 11,000 without some heavy work.Originally Posted by CHAINSAW

First of all, if your hitting 11,000 you better shift because you've rolled right past your powerband. Second, please don't confuse me for some punk kid that just speaks the word of magazines. Third, your calling me out for facts when you haven't ponied up a single one yourself. Now since we've taken this to a debate level the true way to resolve this would be working together in a dyno room getting our own results. The problem is that we live way too far apart and I'm not sure that we should even be putting this much effort into this. With that said I'm going to offer the classic facts of other people's dynos.Originally Posted by CHAINSAW

well i dont have facts but i have knowledge and most of your atv motors 4 stroke include exempt are the new racing four strokes. hondas and yamahas will rev about 10.5 to 11 and my 200x rev limiter is 9.8. now on newer bikes like my cr it is reving close to 12 the new racing four stroke crf and yzf will rev 13.5 chansaw is right with the right mods you can broden your power curve now another thing that will affect your rev limit is jetting lean will run mean untill it burns up. a lean engine will rev higher becuase of the fact you are getting more air. like i said earlier with the right mods like maching the piston or turboing the crank or even port and ploish if you port and polish make sure not to polish intake side or it will run like ****. a new reed cage or reeds could give you a higher rev. stock though will rev out at eleven all your racing 2 strokes will hit 11 or close to it give or take a few.
If we're talking good to heavy mods then sure, just about any of these numbers are possible. I was just under the assumption that this thread was started to get a general idea of general old 2-strokes. The opening post is asking about a Tri-Z motor.Originally Posted by jmack3986

i started the post cause i was curious about all older 2 strokes, i just more specifically wanted to know what the tri-z or yz peaked at.

I dont have any numbers for you, but I can say this.. my 85 triz revved higher then the 84 and 85 250R's I had. But the Z's power was DEAD long before it topped the revs out.
Now the 87 Tecate I had for a week, That thing revved to the MOON, that sucker just kept climbing and climbing, and it never seemed to stop pulling like a bastardI had it revved out down the road, and I figured I'd see how far I could take it, And I blew the crank out through the case. So I guess its better to Just keep them in the rpm's that are usefull.
Give me no lip and I tell you no lie.

With some port work, pipe work and playing around you can reach 12,500. So easy on the know-it-all stuff there buddy, you arent gonna try to tell me the sky is green when Im looking at a blue one (not to mention inside the dyno room, not taken off someone else website)
Re-read the earlier posts and you'll see how pointless your last post was.Originally Posted by CHAINSAW
