Tiger problem: hole in the water jacket.

I borke down and spent some big bucks to get the Tiger radiator rebuilt. I got it installed and now I have a hole in the water jacket on the cylinder. It is not a big hole but water squirts out when I rev the engine. What can I patch this with so it will hold? I really want to get this thing rideable again.

    Thanks,
    Whiteman

You can use JB weld if its a tiny hole.

but if you do weld the hole ip, you may fun the risk of creating a "strand" of metal from the outside of the cylinder to the inside of the water jacket.

They have new square wave tigs out now that can weld up an aluminum engine block repudetly with ease. I'd rather make a solid investment in a classic like that than do it the jerry rigged way.

I would weld it also, cheap fixes are not for that rare a trike. Just makes me wonder how many other "thin" areas are in that jacket that may show up when welding.....

I storngly advise against JB weld on this one. This is a little different than the chevette gas tank. I have a Lincoln square wave tig welder and do many repairs on cast aluminum. It is the best way to go.
