Thank you Howdy. I was reading through my post thought it was a little too much rub in your face type thing.?

Chris I forgot I am sorry, Yeah alot of these seats tend to lift. There is a trick of heating the plastic and rebending it back which I will be attempting to do eventually. I think it was Mobular that gave an excellent tip on how to do this.

Orange, there is major sport here in flat tracking, the second engine is to be built for it. Who knows we may someday get brave and try it, but its an expensive sport.

Since i just had my seat recovered i'd rather not take it off, but I think I'll try and heat it and bend it the way it is.

Looks great Jen! You are really inspiring me to get working on mine. But all for $50,0 you are making me jealous, I will probably have more then that in mine at the end of the summer and still not have an engine.

The bearings were the trick behind this. I was looking at astronomical figures if I stayed honda oem. I took each bearing into a specialty bearing , industrial place and cross reference what I could get away with. Did the seals as well. Only 2 had not been able to cross off (kicker needle bearing). The 3 major shaft bearings slashed lots off total price. Then after talking to my shop I do buisness with, we went through the needle bearings and flushed and reused. I went ahead since the engine was apart and replaced crank bearing. I crossreferenced several parts, and found most identical. This took hours with partsfish, but extremely effective. The topend I pulled off the xr was almost perfect. The intake valve had burned up therefore it was the only one due for replacement. The piston well, I am pushing it to next rebuild. Its wear is right there. We hashed this speced it, and are pushing it. So rering, and next rebuild it gets replaced. I reused alot of stuff. I raped 3 engines to produce one good one.

Out of the 3 engines the bad was a bad crank, Oh boy this was in the running engine no less, I figure another couple rides and we would have seen a hole in this one. By the way, this had stripped exhaust studs, and the exhaust was blown off the engine. Not to mention kicker issue Definate split. Was it ran this way? I dont know. The next one bottom end, well this baby started it all. Here was a good bottom end....YEAH RIGHT!?! I dont know why I had this forsight because I am not one to do it till this point, I stuck a magnet down the hole of the crank. (I tell you what first thing drug out is a magnet now)That Screwed this whole process up. My originall plan was to just rebuild a 200x, but no I have to frikken split this one too. Fine If I gotta split, then watch out. Not to mention one of you little brats wiped out the kicker fix for the 200x. They sold out before I could get mine. I am not gonna do this work unless I am assured I dont have to replace a kicker in a year. And there sitting there all lonely and looking sad is my freebie xr engine. I just planned to get into him later, HA, I gotta split 6 speed is going in. Kicker solution was forming.

The biggest hits for cost was sprocket and chain. Along with the engine rebuild. I am gonna go ahead and add the pipe, and I still have a small carb issue to pan out. My latest selling on ebay have got me just enough for the dg pipe. I have my eye already on the back up piston. ebay. After this I need to fix the RM so I can finally get to my R. Besides, I have 3 kids that I need to support, and heck if one of them didnt just cost me a set of rims, plus something else, Just to keep their stuff running. But hey If they aint runniing I aint riding!

Jenn, to let you know there are still a Few (5 to be exact) new 85 200X carbs left new from Honda. I bought one for mine. The price isnt to bad (or it shouldnt be), I think that DG also offers a carb for them.

P.S. I know I had said mine would be done in a week but if something could go wrong, it did. Plus, you just cant get the quality job when you try to hurry up things. When i get done lets make a thread of how much I spent to make mine look like it does to how much you spent (which I know mine is WAYY more) and see how they both turn out. People dont realize that they dont have to spend a ton of money to make a nice X.

Well the carb is a stubborn issue on my part. The answer is out there, but I dont like the answer. I have a good stock carb. But the stock is gonna really hurt the performancce of this topend. The trike has not been started yet, very nervous I admit. I am waiting on 3 "special" screws. The one thing that frustrates me to no end, Honda and their silly special parts.

Jen, you wouldn't happen to have a list of the bearing #'s woulld you? If I can save some $ on the bearings and seals then I can pick up some brake parts this summer too.
