    Fork Help!

I need instruction on how to service the forks on a 200x and a pic of the routing of the engine vent hoses. I have 2 hoses but only one outlet on the engine.

Do they leak? If the do you will probably need new fork seals. If not probably just changing the oil will do.

No they don't leak I just want to change the oil out and want to verify the sequence. Bleed air out on the top of the forks, pull the top caps then pull the bottom allen head bolt, flush with new atf. put in how much atf? after that do you add air or is it built up in the fork?

When we changed the oil in my SX forks, we just took off the top bolt, took out the springs and I think we drained the oil out the bottom hole but Im not sure. We may have just poured it out the top. The SX took 6oz. of ATF in each fork tube, which may be the same as the X, Im not sure. I don't think you need to bleed the air or anything like that. Just put new oil in and put it back together. :? Its still going good today (2 yrs. later). Good luck

Bleed the air, take off the top caps, take out the drain bolt at the bottom and flush them out good. Once you get one of the fork caps off make sure to take the other one off real slow and keep your hands over it. I didn't do mine slow enough and the spring and washer came flying out and hit the 15 foot high ceiling in my garage. It took me 10 minutes to find the washer. I have a clymer manual and it says 7 ounces per fork for the 200X. It says you don't have to put air in unless you want stiffer suspension.

thats what I was looking for, lucky it did'nt hit you between the eyes like my piston from my rear mastercylinder did today, I put a little air to it, to pop out the piston and WHACK! out it came, right between the eyes. even drew a little blood. thanks
