    anybody use these lights?

I've got to replace the front headlight assembly on my 85 250r. I bought the maier plastic shell, but it doesn't fit the stock light (then why did I buy the shell, you ask? I was wondering the same thing). I thought about the Acerbis DHH light like I have on my black 86, but I want to make this bike different.

I saw the Trailtech light kit at RockymountainATV. Anybody use this before? Here's the link to the website. It says the kit will work for TRX250r, so It should fit the ATC. It's also set up for the stock eletrical. Any thoughts?

I would say your the first.

FYI, At a $160 for a kit they cost too much for my needs. I would rather take that $160 and put it towards buying more machines.

touchette! Yeah, I guess it's a sand junkie thing. Billet this, High horsepower that, and polished these and those can add up quick. Here's the thing; the stock headlight won't fit in the freakin maier plastic headlight shroud. The Acerbis are going to be $40.00 plus shipping, and I want something both different and good looking for the 85 250r. Here' s a couple pic's. One with the useless Maier plastic, the other w/ no light. I think that with the billet lights, It will look sweet!

How can the headlight not fit in the shroud that was made for it? Did maier machine it incorrectly? I'd send it back.

It looks to me that that shell is for the 85 R headlight, you might have the 86 R oem lamp which is bigger.

I was going to send it back to maier, but it got a couple scratches on it when a friend of mine dropped it. Just for information, the shroud doesn't fit the 85 or 86 250r light. I tried both. It is about .5" to short on width and .25" to short on hieght. It made no sense whatsoever.

I wrote them an email a couple days ago & I'm still waiting for a response. Then again, it's a three day weekend ... for them at least.

why dont you bust out a dremel on that plastic and make the light fit. even if you have to buy the dremel it will be cheaper than spending 180 bucks on lights.....
