    Yamaha ID Help

Anyone know how to find out what year this thing is? Cylinder marked 196 so it's a Yamaha 200 but don't know the year. Number on the frame by tree mount is 21V 005660. I am also looking for parts. Need complete pull start with side cover and complete exaust pipe.

    Thanks,
    Jim

With a number that low, I'm thinking it'll be a 200K... 1983. My book I loaned out has the years listed by the engine numbers. However, my earlier DX has the same number on the engine that the frame has. seemslike 83 00000-60000, 84 60000 - 100000, 85 100000+

its not a 200e because it isnt a shaft drive. According to Clymer service manual it is a YTM200K (the K means 1983). You can get an DG exhaust system from dennis kirk for that thing. http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/produc...Id=&leafCatId=
Ive got one on my 200e and it sounds pretty good.

After looking at those pictures a little closer, it looks like the rear fenders are from a 225. But the motor and fram are still a 200 so it really doesnt matter
