85 250r throttle cable

I orderd a stock 85 250r throttle cable but it was to short to work with my twist, ive been looking for a twist cable for a 85, but i can only find them for 86+. I was going to buy a 86 one and see if that works. What is the differnce in 85 and 86 throttle cables? Is it that the carbs are differnt? I might just end up having to throw on my 86 carb and re-jet it just so i can ride it again. But then id have to still buy a 86 twist set up. If anybody knows where i can get a twist cable for my 85 let me know.. James.

I had a twist throttle on my 85 when I bought it, I hated it so I bought a thumb throttle and a new cable. I still have my old twist throttle and cable, If you want them let me know and you can have them, just send me a few bucks to cover shipping. I may forget about this thread, so if your interested just PM me with your mailing address.

Thanks, I was getting sick of riding that dang 300ex around. My buddys all finally fixed there banshees so now hopefully i can say up with them instead of being way behind.
