    Pittsburg are cheapley made tools!

I was just trying to take one of the bolts, that hold the engine in the frame of my Kawasaki, out and my fricken 1/2 to 3/8 drive twisted right off at the part that it goes into the socket. OMG IM PI$$ED! It seems like this project will take forever. And the piece only had like 10 uses out of it.

buy cheap, get cheap. seriously I'd get a set from sears, you can get a carftsman set with 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 sockets and ratchets and a set of metric wrenches for a very resonable price. Alot of people disagree with me about craftsman tools, but they are good for the average guy.

i have alot of mastercraft.. canadian tire brand. same thing.. lifetime warrantee and they handle a good amount of abuse.

Canadian tire also sells " Job Mate " brand.. now that is total Cr@p !!!.. anything with the JOB MATE title should be burned.

I don't think i have anything craftsman yet... weird enough. i think i'm going to get my torque wrenches from sears...... they'll be my first.
    Currently :

85 ATC - 250 SX, Pride and Joy, Bottom-Less Money Pit.

Good old mastercraft! I have little experience with job mate, mainly because I dish out a few more dollars to get more out of the mastercaft. I got a mastercraft socket set, wrench set, torque wrench, drill press and air compressor.

those stupid bigger to smaller adapters always break, ive broken a few... ive found using a 3/8 inch drive for 3/8 inch sockets and so on works best. Use what you got man, you could have a million dollars in tools, it wont make you a better mechanic. Its all in the user.... im not ragging on you, just letting you know that you dont have to pay much to achieve the same results.

They aren't the best though, Mac and Snap On are, more Snap On than mack. The tollerances are tighter, but you pay for it. i honestly don't think it matters that much, but go to any shop and look at what the guys are using. They have lifetime garauntees too. But, at like double price for everything, i say craftsman are the best for the bang. I'll never buy anything else unless i get a good deal on someones box and tools

Believe it or not, my best set of pneumatic impact sockets are pittsburg. Got them as a gift 2 years ago, and they are great. Use them a lot. Most all my other stuff is Husky and Craftsman- LOVE THEM! Never any problems.

Buy Husky, they are made by Craftsman for sale at Home Depot. Have the same warranty and are cheaper than Craftsman.

I went to 3 Home Depots looking for tools that last time I needed things and not one of them had anything for a selection. If I have to order tools I'll do it online. The prices on the little bit they had wern't worth braging about either.

I swear by Craftman tools, even though I am NOT very handy with tools. I'm learning, though. Paid the big bucks and got the socket set with the ratcheting wrenches. They're GREAT! Very handy.

Job Mate tools are for children. I never used such crappy tools in my life. I gave them all to my boy when he was about 10 years old, and even he said they were awful.
