SX 250 rear shock part check

I have an 85 and have the shock apart at the moment. I noticed on bike bandit schematics that it list a # 11 bottom shock spring seat (with a part #) that the spring rest on.

On the 86 & 7's it has the identical picture with the part showing but no #11 part listed (goes from 10 - 12).

I don't have it on my shock and wondering how many do? I have the #6 preload adjuster with the spring resting right on top. If you would, look at the bottom of your shock and see if you have one.

I'm almost positive this shock has never been taken apart and don't see why it would have been either since it is not rebuildable.

The shock body was so rusted I just had to repaint it. Spring I'll paint stock black then.

BTW.........they do come apart quite easily.

But from memory ( at work right now ) The spring just rests on the adjuster's lip.
