New to the board
hi i have a 82 or 83 honda 200s and its been smoking-bad- white/blue smoke. its always flooded when i go to start it and hufs and puffs tell its warm but still smokes.i took off the carb and cleand it, but when i took off the exhaust there was oil in the muffler and when i stared it it didnt smoke that bad and it ideld a lot better. How come??? thanks for any replys

sounds like may need top end/rings ,But maybe a rebuilt carb, does carb hesitate? any "dead spots"????

There is no 82 200s, it's either an atc 200, or a 200e. And yes, sounds like it needs rings.

A compression test would be a good idea..

82 ATC - 200, plain jane, almost mint. ( Sold, 03-17-2005)
84 ATC - 200 ES, Jimmy-Rigged, don't ask.( Sold, 03-17-2005)
85 ATC - 250 SX, Pride and Joy, Bottom-Less Money Pit.
