    CONGRATS!!!!!

If you decide you don't want it, I'll take it

Ok, cable: look on Ebay for a motorcycle cable and ask the seller to measure the cable until you find the right one.
You can also get a used speedo display that says ATC on eBay, or once and a while a NOS one will pop up. But those will cost you. You can get the retro looking red-faced kind from honda still. The PN is 08E80-HM4-100. 50 bux from service honda.
You will also need a bracket which you can fab up easily with some scrap metal.

Soak the gearbox in WD-40 that should free it up.

Go back to my other post where a speedo is installed on my 350x for pics.

Is there any way to install a speedo or tach on a trike that isn't a Hondaline?
Like the universal ones you can buy.

I think I was getting close by checking out a company called VDO. They made tachs for harley singles and twins. also a coupole of other interesting companys out there for the after market custom bikes that i had found online. But since i got my hondaline tach i erased all that stored info.

Nope, the gear is on the wrong side, unless you modify the display, but it's not work it IMO.

VDO... hmm... I'll have to check that out.

Oh, and since the hondaline tachs are like the rarest things on the planet, you can use a tiny tach, cheap and readily available; that's what I'd use on my X, but I don't want anything digital.

Where do you hook the tach up to? I think I remember someone on the boards with a digital tach, but I think an analog one would look better.

I don't know enough about the tachs to know where to plug in. I know some have sensors wraped around the spark plug wire, and some plug into the coil. Don't know about the Hondaline ones.

ok the thing moves with my hands very easy..but not with the rim as it spins...and i have no idea as to how to take it off...i dont even know anything about it really...all i know is that i looked at my dads goldwing and our kz 400 motorcycles and it looks liek them kinda..so i suppose its a speedo..and it spins and i dont think honda would have something on there that does nothing..lol..i dont see any threads tho..which could explain why there is no cable or meter...i bought the trike from a friend..for 150...it had no engine or a bunch of other things when i got it..and i thought that thing might have just been a spacer or somethin...now that i know it is a speedo gear thingy i need to find out how it should work..i was thinkin of welding a little piece of scrap metal onto my rim and makin it go in that little space on the speedo gear..but seeing how its gold and looks good i prolly wont...lol..i was also thinkin about jb weldin it and seeing what happens...btw..it spins pretty fast when i spin the little thing by the rim ...i think it goes 1 rotation for the rims rotation...does that even sound right?? anyway..i just thought id add some things about it...i took the tire off the forks and took off my disk and polished up the rim...it looks shiny now! lol...hopefully i get my stator tomarrow so i can go ridin with my friend on his 400ex...

I'm assuming the little tab off your hub is broken. Why don't you take a picture of it.????...Your 200X hub should be similar to my 350X hub.. look at the first pic below... see the tab? That goes in the notch in that ring. Those pics should also help you figure out how it comes off/on. Once it's off, that ring against the hub will come off so you can grease/oil it up good. The 82R is similar idea, but has the old school metal hub instead of the cast hub. I included 3 pics of that for you too.

Maine Triker.... The tach attaches to the coil and that "extra wire" behind the headlight. Those darn left hand gearboxes.... I got a couple of them here.... 200X or 83/84R I guess... They look like the 350X ones but turn the other direction. Now you said something about modifying the display... that won't work... only way you can use a 200X gearbox on a 350X is to turn the forks around backwards...not that I'd ever stoop that low to make it work.

Swinehart ... That's some mighty nice Tach documentation you got there! hehehhee

That tab is cast.. you'll need to find a new hub. I can't understand what you are trying to say that it turned with the axle.... is the speedo rusted hard to the axle? Whn you push the trike, does the speedo spin around then? There shouldn't be any threads where the cable goes in.. did you not look at the pics I posted? There's a notch in the cable that the screw goes into on the side. Make sure the cable is in ALL THE WAY before you start screwing the screw back in, else the threads will damage your cable.
