250 SX air box.. need favor.

Can anyone post a picture or take one of the stock air filter on an SX .

Mine is either a Uni or K/N or Stock but not the right size or something ain't right.

A picture would clear all that up tho !!

Too big... as in HUGE....

The metal canister that goes inside the filter ( To prevent it from caving in i assume ) is about half the size of the filter !!

it does fit securely and seems to work fine tho... but am curious to know what the hell i have on it !

Well i'll be damed.. it actually looks close.. mine's a white foam with red rubber and no place for the flat plate at the bottom.. only the hose clamp.

actually. if you read this and still have things apart.. can you install the filter in the airbox without the lid and take another snap for size perspective ?

I'd give you all a pic of mine but removing the rear rack requires cutting zip ties and removing bolts and roughly 20 minutes of work ( wich i guess ain't that bad now that i'm typing this.. LOL ) but i do apreciate seeing another one to compare to.

looks just like my stock 250 bigred (250es). the bracket mounts to the top rear. i have a extra screened part but not sure about the clamp part.

What that canister does is prevent a back fire from starting your filter on fire and then the

whole machine.

While we are on the air filter subject, what kind of oil you use on it?

that clears it up totally...... mine has the same shape/size but different color... white foam with red rubber.

So i guess they are supposed to be that size after all.. hmm.

Huffa: I simply use 10w 30 on mine right now.. went hunting for air filter spray can but came home empty handed... rare stuff around here. or i'm not looking in the right place yet.
