And 1/8th turns make a difference.. don't turn it in out in out.. like a mad man when you first start the engine... if it starts and rev's wayyyy high.. hit the kill switch and think it over...

And don't go crazy when you turn in it all the way.. it pushes against the plunger in the carb lifting it when you screw in... you don't want to dent the plunger / slide.

man bigred head thanks alot got her all together and put the tank on turned it to run and choke on and pulled .....nothing lol and pulled again nothing then opened the tank lol :o pulled again ...nothing pulled it again SHE FIRED![]()
BUT THE ONLY THING WAS THE THROTTLE WAS STUCK WIDE OPEN (GOOD THING IT WAS IN NEUTRAL)SHE SCREAMED LOUDDDDDD PLAYED WITH THE THROTTLE WHEN I NOTICED IT WAS NOT REALSEING I FORGET HOW SHE SHUT OFF LOL MAN THANKS TO EVER INPUT AND BIG THANKS TO BIGREDHEAD......
Cool... good ot know you got it going.. i know how you feel... it drives me nuts when i'm so close to having something working but minor details prevent me from getting it done... LOL..
Your welcome.
The throttle stuck wide open.. i bet that's simply the slide in the wrong way.
When you unscrew the cap from the top of the carb ( where the throttle cable goes in ) the round thing only goes in one way .. or it's wide open !!!!
check that first !!

What's the spark plug tip look like ? if white/gray .. too much air not enough fuel.
Black means too much gas.

its black very black i set the side screw idle screw back to normal screw it in an back it out 1 1/4 turns that how it is now.
the 1 and 1/4 turn is not the side screw.. it's the vertical one between the carb and airbox.... the one with the flat washer.. and rubber o-ring..

The idle screw does not have a setting specific to it... but 2 turns out should be somewhat close ( if it's in the manual.. i did not find it ! )
The idle screw is the horizontal one. with the spring showing.
edited to add :.. the vertical screw.. with the ruber o-ring flat wather.. .. . . . is the one that needs to be set to 1 1/4 out... it determines the air to fuel mixture.

so if its black the should i turn the 1 1/4 screw?in for more air ?
when i put the lever up the flap in the carb closes that choke right the the second position is half close the third is all the way open
Well.. the air/fuel screw should be ajusted as follows.
With the engine fully warmed up.. you slowly turn the screw in until the engine starts to sputter.. then turns it out until it sputters again.. and then figure out the middle mark.. that's where it should be.
Depending on your elevation and temps etc...... not all machines will have the exact same position .
These adjustments should be performed with a CLEAN air filter .. installed WITH THE COVER ON.
You can also check your choke position by removing the air filter.. stick your finger in there and play with the choke lever... make sure it's working and not stuck.
