I got mine quite a few years back from the Honda dealer. The replacement process is in the manual, but just looking at them, it's pretty evident how to remove & replace them. It's a lot easier than the seal replacement that you've already done!

Fork oil has additives to keep the seals soft; ATF doesn't.

I have a bottle of Valvoline Max life ATF which is for older transmissions and right on the bottle it says " Conditions transmission seals to prevent leaks"

Even the normal stuff which doesn't mention about seals I'm sure they have the some type of additives in.

I'd recommend the Max life for sure. A lot cheaper.

    Check it out : http://www.valvoline.com/pages/produ....asp?product=6

OK, may be so. The old Type F I used years ago didn't do my seals any good and I'd rather not take the chance myself. If you want to try a different weight oil, you're out of luck with ATF though. If I remember correctly ATF is either 5 or 7.5 weight. I run 10.
