I dont have the spec in front of me but I think its slightly more than a quart.Remove the oil check screw on the side case until oil drips out of the hole. I recommend "BEL-RAY GEAR SAVER SAE 80". I used to run 10w-40, but have switched to the BEL_RAY and noticed a big difference. GREG

Without going out to the shop to get the manual, I thinks it's .79 Qts.

Its only a transmission oil, it doesnt lubricate anything else so they normally use a heavier (sp?) oil instead of just 10-30 motor oil

Motorcycle/ATV 2 stroke gearbox oils are rated differently than standard motor oils. Their 80w or 85w weight pours like a 10w40. They work fine as do standard 10w30 or 10w40 motor oils. If you pour standard 90w automotive gear lube in there, your clutch will never let go when you pull it.

It takes a little less than a quart.

Ahhhhh.. now that's the part i never knew about.. similar viscosity.. just different rating..

I was picturing myself TRYING to pour fresh 80w hypoid oil in my SX's rear end last winter.. took me 5 minutes to get a damn oz out
