Just goes to show that a GM is a POS. I like this quote:

"The very evidence provided by the manufacturer
(GM) to indicate this condition is not a problem ultimately demonstrates that it is a problem."

Yea I know there are about a million dopy names for ford but the one thing I can say about Ford that is that everything they sell is afFORDable compared to G.M. and they back it all up.

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but here is a link for recalls. If you look every manufacturer is on it & for MANY various reasons. So those who are brand loyal don`t be tooting your horn too loud LOL.

I don't see how you can compare a company admitting they have a problem and taking steps to correct it to building vehicles that knock and denying it's a problem.

Well Ford had a problem a few years back with the tires & they knew while building the vehicles that the tires they were using were GARBAGE !!! It was stated as so from one of the GM`s ( General Managers ) that they had learned of the problem but continued to use the tires on new vehicles anyway. I think I`ll take an ENGINE KNOCK over a possible life ending accident anyday but that`s just my thought I don`t know I might be wrong in feeling this way. Also there has to be many other things that never get to the media that not one of us ever hears about ( money hides alot of problems ) all brands have had some hidden things that will never surface. I`m just giving you a heads up that there are far worse recalls by other companies that had to be forced by the Federal Government before they ever materialized.

Every company has problems that they ignore. If they aren't forced to do a recall or it's cheaper to do one then head up some law suits they will all deny as long as they can. Old news.

The tires used on Fords SUV's were not junk they were good tires. People would buy an SUV and expect a cadillac ride out of a off road orientated vehicle. without complete suspension revision the next best thing to get a decent ride out of an SUV was to lower the tire pressure. Well with lowered tire pressure comes sidewall fatigue and damage resulting in a tire blow out. Granite the largest portion of blow outs happened on the highway due to higher tire RPM's and tire heat allowing the rubber to "let go" a lot easier.

I beg to differ with you. If the tires were good tires then Why would Ford spend all that money to give the owners of the vehicles new ones ? Was it because they were good ? I wouldn`t think so but hmm maybe they needed a tax break & what better way to do it than waste a bunch of money

cuz the majority of society are like sheep, if they are all running and one goes off a cliff the rest follow. if one guys tire blows up on his truck cuz of lack of air pressure and wants new tires from the auto maker, everyone else wants new tires for free cuz he's gettin them for free. it was cheaper on Fords behalf to just supply new tires to everyone than try to take it to court to prove a simple point. a tire with the correct amount of air pressure is less likely to have a malfunction than one with less than recommened air pressure. My parents own a 2000 Expidition and it had the supposed bad tires on it and we never had any trouble with them cuz there was the correct amount of air pressure in the tire. when we had them changed after, I repeat after they had warn out from time and ware on the road we had them inspected for unusual damage and ware, nothing looked different. it looked like a normal driven tire. I have several friends that had worked and some still do work at our local Ford dealer ship tell me that was the only problem with those tires, lack of air pressure.

Who are you saying lowered tire pressure, the auto owner or the auto maker?

dealerships would lower tire pressure to a spongy cuz auto owners would complain of a to stiff of a ride in an SUV. if you buy an off road orientated vehicle you should expect a stiff ride.
