WOW it just goes to show you that some of this stuff is still out there somewhere. Gauging by the number of questions about the auction there was alot of interest. Its alot of money but this person may be trying to build the "perfect" 90 and may have looked for one of these for years.

It pains me of all the things out there in peoples basements, attics , and garages taken off at the time for aftermarket parts etc. Just sitting there with the unused gym equipment collecting dust

It looks like ATC90NOS (the #2 bidder bid 999.00 --he should have bid 1001.99 because people do put in round numbers alot.

Anyway I suggest to this person and anyone buying collectibles or paying real good money for NOS parts that a portfolio be done. It can be very simple.
I print out the auction pages since they only last 90 days on ebay. Take and print pictures. This way if your building a machine with rare parts you have it documented. Also save those factory bags with the part # labels. Not only will it help resale if you ever decide to let it go, its fun to pull out and show your buddies and bulls@*t for a while

I'll tell you what happened --He threw in a high amount to secure it and never expected anyone to bid up to it. Personally If I was involved in this auction I would report him to ebay so they could watch for a trend in this behavior. I know everyone makes a mistake but come on. The 3rd bidder was 163.00 so its obvious what happened. I could be wrong but thats unlikely.

Mike over at vintage motorsports must be doing another 90 restoration for a customer with deep pockets. He was the high bidder on 3 NOS balloon tires a year or so ago, for the price of $3500! Those 3 tires though, went on the trike that was being built for the Honda motorsports museum in Japan (Pretty sure anyways).

That's not mike's screen name.... seems like it was honda10 then changed to mikeatvintagemotorsports or something like that.

Actually, Mike is the one to thank (or to curse ) for me finding this site!
