Mounting Banshee footpegs on a Tri-z

Well, since my footpegs started to benda little at the MX at TF and from the kickstart hitten the right side for 20 years I decided to replace them with another set. Banshee or YFZ 450. Read the attached image, I have all the plans in there.

Any thoughts?

How will that eliminate the kick start damage?

I was thinking something like this with out the kick up at the end. Never thought of the kicker damage again, dont think it will do anything to prevent it. But now I have learned to kick it over withot hitting the pegs so hopefully I will save these pegs.

If you can, keep those end peices. They really help you corner. You are going to have to show me how you avoid hitting your peg. I still nail it every time.

If you can sit on the seat when you kick it over. I only have to go about 6 Inches before I start up first kick. I sit down and away I go. I dont stand up. Those kick ups at the end at starting to grow on me.

Don't the Banshee pegs bolt on? I was thinking that all you had to do was weld a tab on for the rear brake.

Definately don't want aluminum pegs for as much as you jump your Z. I have the same problem. I'm working on making some new 1/2" think plates and making my pegs out of 2" steel channel. NO MORE BENT PEGS! I bent the pegs and the 3/8" steel mounting plates jumping mine out there!

No way I can start mine sitting down. Especially with my big hoss that will soon be in place. Keep this in mind about jumping. those fot pegs are all that is geeping your legs attached to your body when you come down from a jump. So what ever you do, make sure they stay attached to the trike.

Oh yeah, forgot to add. I sliced a piece of 3/8 fuel line down the middle and zip tied about 2 inchs of it onto the top of my peg. Now it just hits the rubber and stops. No more clang, clang. Been on there for quite awhile and still works great!

This is a common misconception and is not always true, depends on the quality of alm. you are useing. With todays hi end billet alm. Aluminum is far stonger pound for pound vs steel and a lot more corrosion resistant if left in a unpolished state.

My old yz426f kicker hit the pegs every time. but on that the kicker had some dent deal where it would hit every time. It was there from day one. i never had a issue with bending the foot pegs. Like someone else said if you buy the strongest aluminum you can get ahold of your pegs shouldn't ever bend. Pound for pound good alum. is as strong if not stronger than steel. But good plan for the pegs
