    New to forum

Hello, I'm new to this forum and I noticed a couple of you guys have the same trike I do, Suzuki ALT 125. Here is the short story:
My father found her dumped out in the street, very rusted and would smoke like crazy. That weekend I got to work and took it all apart, replaced the rings, and painted everything. The bike looked great and was FUN to ride(especially bringing it up in the air). The day before I was going to put the moldings back on(was getting them painted), I popped a wheelie one last time before putting the bike up, and when I came back down, it turned off on me!!?!?! I turned it back on, but to my surprise, it wouldn't go anywhere. It would idle perfect, but when I would give it gas, it would choke out and die?!?!? Any suggestions as to what it might be?

I've heard that doing wheelies on 3 wheelers isn't good. Something about the oil or oil pump or something..
But I really dont know what you're problem would be, I just posted to say about that wheelie thing.. lol.. not that it matters.. everyones does it anyway.

As long as you don't pull wheelies for longer than 5min strait, don't worry about the oil draining into the crankcase lol!! I think the reason the trike acted so strange was because it's possible (if you never cleaned out the carbs) that the floats stuck. And as soon as you give it throttle you instantly flood it. The carbs can gum up. So take it off and clean it with carb or brake cleaner.

I wont wheelie for more that 10 seconds anymore. I wore out my one bike doing that because the oil pump cant pump the oil to the cylinder when its verticle and now am rebuilding the top end.

I don't think the bike would of screwed up on you because you were wheelieing, it probaly a misajusted carb. Does it turn over?

Most people like oil in their crankcase, I know I do

Thanks for the replies!!!! I readjusted and cleaned everything in the carburator, but it still does the same thing. Does anyone know of a place online where I can purchase parts for it ( used would be best, on a budget)? Could it have something to do with a clutch?

When you came down from the wheelie....its possible that you dislodged a piece of dirt or something in your carb, which is blocking a jet or something inside.

Suzuki trikes are a bit rare.. out there. but a rare breed !!! congrats on the find and welcome to the boards !!

    Check things out carefully....

remove the plug and attach it to the wire. .. touch the tip of the plug to the head and turn it over.. check for spark.

if you have spark.. put it back in.. crank it over and then remove the plug again to see if it's wet or dry... if dry.. not getting gas. if wet something else is wrong.

How is your gas tank looking ? rusty or clean ? check the petcock for good flow.

I took out all of the gas, inspected the gas tank, everything is clean, put new gas in, still does the same thing. I think im going to just buy a new carb.

Before you go out and spend money.. go over it a few times.

    - Gas cap vent plugged ?
    - coil wire grounded properly..
    - All electrical connections need to be checked\

You were doing wheelies when it happened... no big deal, but that jolts everything pretty good... check the RUN switch.. might have bumped it and it could be off a bit ( hey.. laugh if you will it happens !! lol.. )
