    Exclamation stock ytm200 carb

check out the attached pix.... for a 200cc engine, this carb seems terribly undersized. the slide bore on my 86 kx80 is much larger. im not even sure this is the stock carb/manifold. all the intakes ive seen on ebay, have bolt flanges on both ends, whereas mine has bolt flanges for the head mount, and a rubber slip boot attaching the carb. if this is the stock intake system, the cable routing cant be right, it is pinched on the frame by the seat.rear plastics. if this isnt stock, would the bigger carb from my kx80 be a performance advantage? i have access to a very nicely equiped machine shop, and could fab a slick intake.

ANY ideas on lowering my idle rpm's and keeping the motor running at the same time would be great. thats the root of my situation to begin with.

im also running a NKG, D8EA plug, not a D7EA. cooler plug that factory. TIA

    Hey,

I cant help you with your idle problem, but my friend has a stock YTM200E and its carb looks the same as yours. Also, my friend says how did you keep your plastics soo clean and nice looking? lol

    thx

im the third owner, and it has always been garaged. there is oxidation on the fenders, but the tank cover is great.

post some pix of your homies ytm, i cant get enough trikes and bikes!!

no one has any input on weather a bigger carb would improve performance or not?

you would get more top end, and might loose some of the bottom. and you can't put a kx80 carb on it. its for a 2 stroke not a 4 stroke.

i had one of those and that looks just like the carb. and the throttle did go the same way yours is just over buy the middle of the frame more. near the center tube. and twist the carb alittle so its straight up and down.

when i got mine it didn't idle either. clean the carb good. and i also went up a few steps on the pilot jet.
