you can remove the master link and with a socket and punch remove a link and re-install the master.

you can also get chain breakers at any auto parts store for about 10 bucks and it will save you lots of time and effort

before you cut it make sure that you have enough adjustment to take up the slack before you cut out a link. if you cut out too much you aren't going ridding to you get a new chain.

do you have a cut off wheel for the dremel?

Its way too loose, and R's are famous for throwing chains, as they dont have a chain guide on them.

Grind the ends of the pins off flush where shown in the picture. Grind flush and right on into the side plate a little bit. Then lay it on a hard surface, preferably cement, and use a chisel or screwdriver to force the side plate off by wedging it in between with a sharp whack of a . The R has plenty of adjustment and you wont come up short if its all the way tight right now.

i never tried that. seems easier than what i do. i grind off one of the pins then bang it out with a punch.

You can get a half link at a dealership i know they have them there. Also maybe a hardware shop maybe! But i wouldnt ride it like that it could throw out your rear bearings or snap.
