Finally have digital capability
Yes, they've dragged me kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
Thought I'd post up some picks of the trusty '82 185s.
1st shot: Here's my new gas tank, just after being redone last week at my favourite backyard mechanic's shop. The very bottom of the tank, far righthand side and the very bottom corner, had a hole wore right through it. He JB'ed it and painted it 'er up. I'm pleased with the job, so far. Looks good. I emailed Harlan Lysne about tank stickers and will likely finalize a sale on decals in the morning, based on his reputation with you folks.
2nd shot: Other side of the tank, which wasn't nearly as bad but was showing its age. You can see I added an NGK racing plug wire which elimated 95% of a problem I had of stalling out AFTER going through wet stuff. It would stall out only occasionally afer passing through water at times, shallow or deep, then it would start right up again. Now it stalls out only very rarely. Odd, you can go through crap up to the seat almost, and it keeps on going, but a splash from a little puddle would sometimes give it fits. That's almost eliminated now. Gonna give the wires it a shot of silicone spray and hopefully cure it 100%.
3rs shot: New Mudlites, threw 'em on about three rides ago. They're doing ok, I really like them a lot, but they ride totally different than stock. Have to get used to them. The stockers would kind of power through the mud OK, but these tires seem to grab one wheel at a time, which means if you aren't on your toes you will find yourself aiming far off to the left or right in the blink of an eye.
P.S. Look carefully, can you see which end of my axle is bent? LOL Got a new axle but haven't mustered up the testicular fortitude to tackle that job yet.
Anyway, just playing with pictures now that I finally got a computer with easy digital upload of photos. Until now, I just left my digital in the closet. Plus I always enjoy seeing pix of your guys' trikes.
Cheers
Your trike looks overtired to me in the rear. Is that the stock size?
Got a helmet ? for you. Is your helmet as vintage as the trike? If so (and it looks like it is) update to a new helmet. You'll be a lot safer and look more stylish too!

Naw, that's the stock size. Just the angle of the photo I think makes them look oversized. For some reason the left one will suddenly lose its bead and let all the air out. Happened twice so far, and for no apparent reason. I'll be just tooling along, not bouncing off rocks or whacking the sidewalls against rocks, and suddenly I'll have a flat. I refilled the tire and started riding again and it would keep its air just fine for the rest of the day. Very odd. I'm putting in about 3 lbs of air, maybe too little? But I like the softer ride on low pressure. Mud Lites give a lot harder ride than the original tires ever did.
Yeah, that's a pretty old helmet. It saved me once in a bad crash so I trust it. But I would guess you are correct, an up-to-date helmet is probably even safer, eh!

Here's a better photo of the rear tires. (LOL, this is the shot I meant to post in the first place. If you look carefully, you can see by the left wheel that I have a slight bend in the rear axle near that point.)
Anyway, stock size, uh, 22x11x8 I believe.
