Yep.. my trike has
Independent Rear Swingarm !!
Maaaaan... everyting was great, on the trail at 9:45 am and going all out until 1:30pm. then had to get back the same distance.
Got on.. and noticed that everytime i hit a rock with the right tire the left foot peg would rattle.... Hmmmm

It was all " Downhill " from there !!
First the right vertial tube let go on the bottom weld.. ok, take it slow and get to the next road.. Right ?
3 rd gear.. bump bump.. GRRRRRR GRRRR.. Bump GRR. Had to stop. just coul'nt do that to the poor girl.. it was killin me.
So.. pulled out the tow rope.. tried a pull but same problem the drive shaft is perma-turn if the wheels turn. the axle too.
Wrapped the tow rope around the whole thing to try to keep it together..
Drove at about 20 km/h for an hour with all my weight hanging off the right side footpeg to keep the ballance of the whole frame on the shock as much as possible to keep the drive shaft angle straight enoug to not rub.
As we kept going . 3 rd gear all the time. things kept getting worse.. the weld on the middle of the swingarm started to give.. then the other weld. then the next.. until just at the right spot.
I stayed behind for an hour while the other guy went to get the truck and trailer.

As we finally got the the spot that the road meets the trail.. i cut the motor. took off my helmet and took a drink of water.. and i hear in the bushes something.

The trailer you see there was not ours.. someone else was out riding and was parked there.
The fox stayed with us for about 10 minutes while we figured out what to do.. got the bug spay.. a bottle of water . a left over piece of sandwich and got comfy on the SX.
they headed off.. and the fox and me hung out.
For a WHOLE 30 Minutes !!!.. he just wondered around in the open.. i have him a piece of sandwich.. he gobbled it up !
It was pretty cool !

Man, sorry to hear about the gradual exploding of the rear but I'm sure you'll fix it right back up.
I liked the Fox story the best though. So cool & odd that it hung out with you and the tail on thing is so huge. Great picture too!

Haha.. that fox looks mischevious. Those trails look really fun too.
What year is your SX? Mines an '85 and the hitch is different than that. It has a hitch w/ 3 holes instead of just one.. its very wide.. did Honda put different hitches on it for different years, or is mine aftermarket?

This is the hitch that is on my SX..
And excuse the tailpipe, hitch, and seat. The hitch has since been painted with high durability gloss black lacquer so the whole backend is perfect as far as paint goes, I have since re-done the seat, and the tailpipe is soon be to replaced with a Cobra Megaphone.

Last one.
i have alot more. but this should give you an idea how close he hung around.. i really did'nt want to get too close. he looked injured. his rear leg was not moving right. but apart from that he was just hungry.. i gave him another chunk of sub and he ate it right up !
The couple who owned the trailer in the background came along and i singaled them to be quiet and pointed out the fox.. they slowed right now and shut the bikes off.. he stayed.
we talked for a while, and he got into the woods a few feet but keps us in sight. The couple loaded up. left and then the fox came out again for another while !
