Not true. There are auto shops that will break the beads for next to nothing. The one by the mall here did all 4 of mine for free (it was close to quitting time anyways).
Now you might have trouble at an auto shop, because you probably dont have 12" wheels. The machines at the auto shops require a minimum wheel size of 12", because thats about the smallest wheel that came on any small car.
one more question. I've never had anything to do with tires, but if you break the bead does that mean its acctually "broken" and you have to get a new one or can you reuse the same bead thats on there already
To "break" the bead...you dont actually break anything. All you are trying to do is slide the bead of the tire off the raised portion of the wheel. Sounds a lot easier than it actually is.
