    E-bay and Canadians.

What the hell.. why is everything on e-bay from the US.. this just sucks.. i keep finding good buys on stuff for my SX and almost all the good deals list " SHIPS TO USA ONLY " ...

Do a search on ebay.ca for anything SX related.. 7 days a week and with luck you MIGHT find a part once every few months.

Then when you finally get to buy a US part.. Customs slaps you with an extra bill. sometimes as much as the part itself.

I can understand why some sellers may not want to ship to Canada. I have done it a few times in the past and it is a pain. I have also tried to purchase parst from Canada and that is an even bigger pain. Whether you are the buyer or the seller, there is no real way to know if the parts will even reach thier destination.

Funny this thread should come up. Apperently you canadian guys have to learn how to read those auctions! Do you now what SHIPPING TO USA ONLY means!. I just sold my stock 200x exhuast on ebay. At the very last minute some nitwit called canuksfan something or other bids and wins the auction. Well needless to say he is not getting that auction. It specifically says ups ground to united states only...WTF???

More than half the e-bay auctions say " Usa Only " on one spot and " Ships worldwide " in the other.

By the time you send an e-mail and get a reply back to know if you can bid.. auction is over tuff luck.

I bit on a rear axle last week for 20 $ us. went for 20.50 after i re-read the thing 10 times over to understand the guys mumbling... ends up " USA only ". i would have hapily dished out way more than 20 for a rear axle and paid shipping. but. however.

Well it looks like I've got the best of bost worlds, heh heh, I live in Canada, about 25 mins from the border, and our family has a P.O. Box in North Dakota that i get all my parts shipped to, then I just have to go pick them up and pay duty at the border for them.
I still think its kind of stupid that people wont send to Canada though, its even more stupid that it takes as much as a month to clear customs.

i feel for you guys I really do. But sometimes sellers need the money asap after the auction and by going international it just delays everything. It is a pain sometimes with the exchange rate, customs, and shipping.

I dont see a problem with a buyer winning an item and then finding out what the shipping would be to canada and going on www.xe.com to figure the current exchange rate, then just paying with paypal.
But maybe I dont know what I'm talking about, I just started using eBay last week.

Agreed. Then it gets messy with -feedback. I got parts from canada (I really have nothing against you people) and it took well over a month and shipping rates were rediculous. I would probably not have a problem doing it privatly but not through ebay.

paypal makes payment a non issue for anyone who uses the service.

Shipping can and is always an issue.. i work for a shipping company so i know first hand the problems possible.

Cubing ( weight adjutment according to volume of the parcel ).. Insurance surcharges. Customs.. you name it. been at this for 8 years.

I'll ship to US anyday. you just have to package things correctly. have your customs declaration forms.

ALWAYS MARK IT AS " GIFT " WITH A VALUE UNDER 200 $ OR " USED PARTS DAMAGED NOT FOR RE-SALE ".

Same here. I wonder why that is. It is easier to ship across the ocean than it is to Canada. Go figure.

I will say this, some of the most curtious people are from other countries. I don't say I will ship anywhere but the US but when they ask I gladly comply. For one thing, you know they need the part, second, they have never let me down, ever. I have only ever had one person from another country not ask before hand weather I would ship to them. It was a small package so it was no trouble anyway. If you keep your packages small, customs forms are not that dificult. My bigest shipping problem was when I shipped a dvd player to Russia, the guy didn't want to spend the extra on air fare so it went by boat and took almost 4 months to get to him. Now I will only ship by air if they ask so it gets there within a couple weeks.

I have had maybe 5 to 10 non payers and they are always from the US. Probably kids but who knows.

i agree with x-system. i usually on say ship to the usa but if i am asked ill ship to their country. i have shipped many parts to the UK and that is no different then canada. all i do is say the item is a gift. so no extra tax is required. plus i can get a few more bids if i ship internationally. everyone needs parts. i dont mind going the extra mile when i am in a good mood. lol sorry i dont have any extra sx parts for ya

Yes. If that dude would of asked me before bidding I could of looked into it before hand. That's why there is that little link on there that says ask seller a question! Another reason is I need the money quickly as I'm going on vacation in a couple days. i really feel bad about it but waiting on a money order would of taken a long time. I usually go out of my way to help fellow trikers but I also have limits. Escpecially when it clearly stated ships to *.S. only.
