WARNING Don't forget to set your timing! or else...

I'm guessing that the person who had this engine before I got it forgot to set the cam chain timing after having it apart. Looks like I wasted $50 .

Yes, that is a hole in the piston and you guessed it, it's the size of the exhaust valve.

This is were the valve should be, not in the tranny where I found it.

Dang.... I thought they had a noninterferrence piston? My 200ERN does.... well.. it does now after your brother and I noticed it was turned around backwards and we place it in there in the correct position!

Is at least the lower end/crank good? I still got that other 200E motor here.... Oh... I got the 225DX started up... those petcocks leak some... hoping that the seals are just dried up a bit and once some fuel gets in there will seal up. The 225DX idles better, but dang... the gas just pours out of that carb! Which way did you adjust that float? hahhahhaha Thanks again man!

I dont think the timing was off.... I would say it was adjusted right...
My guess is someone was riding it, probably at high rpm's and it
    A: dropped a valve.. or
B: the timing jumped and caused the valve to well shoot down...

I say that just cause i say that was a high rpm happening not just an idle.

No Bruce the crank is bad too. Of course I found that out after I got the whole thing apart cleaned up and back together in the trike. Now I have a nice looking tirke that starts in 2 pulls but knocks. I am not sure what to do now . As for the DX I lowered the fuel hight just a hair, maybe it is catching and sticking open or something.

Didn't that guy have more of the Yami 200 motors? Or were they shaft drives? You contact him with some pics? Guy seemed nice enough...bet he might let you trade it back for another motor he had?

That petcock finally sealed itself up; so guess it wasn't a total lost! hahahaa Those other parts I got there were well worth the "$5" a piece he charged me... it was funny how I'd say.. hmmm... how about that? $5.... this part? "$5".. etc....

Yeah I saw another 200 chain drive engine there but even if he gives it to me it will cost me another $40 in gas. I emailed him saying what happened and am waiting for his responce so who knows. I just want this project to be done.

red silicone on the top AND bottom of the jug??? bad news m8.
there are 2 chain drive 200 yammie engines on ebay right now.
as well as a nice 25.00 crank.
i think the guy you got the engine from should comp ya on this one, even if its just credit toward another purchase, that would still taste better than the 5.00 motor you spent 50.00 on.
