    tri z oil change

    I was changing the oil in my 86 tri z and theres white substance that drained out near the end of oil change what could it be? water impeller shaft seal needs to be replaced?

    It sound like water is getting into your engine. Is it kept outside? are you running water or an actual coolant in your cooling system?

    Some how you got water in it then. When ever I have gotten a mixture of coolant and oil it was obvious. with water and oil it looks different and it sounds as though that is what you described. Maybe it got there from one of your rides.

    If its only a small amount, Id just change it an watch it. The white stuff is water, but Ive gotten small amounts just from condensation before. If the whole mess is milky, then youve got a more serious condition, which either means an impeller seal, or a deep water crossing since the last oil change.

    I think tim sr maybe correct about the condensation I do not use my 86 for woods or trail riding only street use so no water crossing or puddles
