The design of the foot pegs was different. The sides of the '83 were solid, where the '84 & '85 had holes in them, and were just a hair longer. I was always under the impression that the blue spring on the '85 was a little bit stiffer of a spring, than the '83- '84s.

    1983
Tank is White: Wing Logo is Red/Orange/Yellow
    "200X" Logo is White/Red
    Tubular Swingarm
Fork Tubes and Boots are Black

    1984
Tank is White: Wing Logo is Red/Orange/Yellow
    "200X" Logo is White/Yellow
    Box-Sectioned Swing Arm
    Fork Boots are Black
**Info From a Dealer**: The fork Bottoms were Black for the first 6 months of production and Natual Aluminum for the last 6 months of production. I can't verify this to be 100% correct though.

    1985
Tank Is White: Wing Logo is Red/White/Blue
Seat and Fork Boots are Blue, Fork bottom is Natual Aluminum.
    Box-Sectioned Swing Arm

    Motor Differences:
83, 84, & 85 all used different internal Kickstarter gears. ( I have the last of the repair kits ).

    General 200x question 1983-85

Is the stock thumb throttle housing plastic or metal? The one on my '85 is plastic but I could swear the one on the '85 I had in the 80's was metal.

Thanks. The 1983 I was interested in must have been sold. The dude won't respond to my e-mails anymore or call me to tell me where to come get it. Bummer.

Are your 200x throttle housings plastic or metal? Just wondering. Don't really need one.

I have in my collection a plastic throttle housing. It came with the 200x batch of stuff I got, but I cannot remember if it was originally on it or not. But I have one and its on my shelve. LOl Sorry I know it doesnt answer your question.

I spoke too soon. Apparently he's just out of town so I might still get it next weekend.
