    Question Beads wont pass lip.

I put some used tires on my friends 185s. The rims have a lip on the outer side of them(only on one side). The tires have tubes in them just in case the tires have any holes i dont know about. The beads sealed in the inside but they didn't pass the little lip on the outside. Anyone know how i could make the beads pass the lip on the outside with out destroying the tire. i dont want to blow my self up by over filling the tire.

Put a belt around the tire to keep it from balloning out.. then put the pressure to it. Tiedown straps work good.. or even a strong leather belt ! .. ratchet straps even.

Yes, the rope/belt trick works well. That, and a quick shot of air. Close your eyes........

I use a clip on air chuck, and no valve stem. I put the tire out in the drive, turn on the air from in the gurage, and run it up to the bead seating pressure listed on the side wall. I hear the pop-pop of the two beads setting, then I release the air. Put in the valve stem and all done.

    Soap helps a bunch too.

The local motorcycle and atv shop around here uses baby powder.....i tried it on a car tire and an atv tire....works pretty good i must say! or the dangerous method.....inflate the tire....spray carb cleaner around the bead...light that mo fo on fire and put the air to it....I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT!!!!!!!!
    Currently Trikeless!!!
