does anyone know if a 81 xl 500 motor will bolt up to a 84 xl600 frame,i've got a chance to buy 2 rolling chasies . one is the 84 xl and a 86 xr600 for 100 bucks and there is a basket motor too,but don't need any extra dead weight in the garage. any help would great....thanks

All those are basically the same motor and are all interchangeable. Dry sump and RFVC. The 82's and older are wet sump and non-RFVC. Buy that stuff, that is a STEAL! What do you mean dead weight? Parts just laying around. I will buy what ever you don't need if it is reasonable.
