Not a big fam of the maier fenders. If he thinks he's gonna get 5 G for it, he ought to buy new tires and plastic for it. Looks like about a $2000 R to me.

The highest I ever saw a sweet R go for was 4100.00 on ebay. This one posted is really nice and does look like it has low hours on it. 20-30 bucks on shroud decals would a have went a long way. I'm always skeptical when people dont post many close up shots. It would take About 15 close ups showing a Mint 250r to go over the 2000-2500 mark for me. 250rs are very common but low hour ones are not, we all now that the $$$$ adds up fast when you buy a cheap one and try to fix it up in to great condition.

Oh and although its an easy fix the blue maier rear fender decals kill it for me

For five grand you could buy a typical R and have enough left to turn it into a complete beast. That dude is on crack.

There's at least three in the local cycle trader that are nicer than that for less than half the money right now.

Yeah, thats way to steep it seems like to me. Considering its not running original plastics makes you wonder if it was wrecked in a bad way maybe??

How does the seller keep track of 300 hrs? How do you really know it has 300 hrs in 20 years? CAN THE SELLER PROVE THE TIME he allegedly claims? Not. I say it has 1551hrs. How can you tell the difference? The seller should have left all the dust that would have settled on it. Then it would be as valuable as a 20 year old car or truck with the orginal paint. caviat emptore

I'll bet there are alot nicer rides out there in a somones shed, basement or garage including Tecate's, Tri z's, even Tiger prototypes just waiing to be listed. I saw last year a virtually new 86 350x (with OEM tire tits) on Ebay sell for 4 grand. It was located in Rockway NJ.That one was worth every dime.

I agree --The hunt is on !!!!--I just need to find an 81R in that type of shape. I do believe that is part of the attraction and fun of this hobby.. Finding this stuff. I was actually thinking of that 86 crate tri Z that existed the other day in one of the old threads (pics have been deleted). Think of all the people that have these parts and 3 wheelers and have never been on ebay. They cant unload the stuff we would all love to have.

That would be a cool section on this site on the main page with pictures that would remain. Any crate trikes or 350x's with the tire tits.

Oh can you say tire tits on more time

Too bad the seller of that almost new 81R parted out that ride earlier this year on Ebay. Would have been a nice one to have.
