what yur 250r head looks like after the cr head gasket blows.
well, i figured it was time to bite the bullet and see if i had a cracked sleeve or a blown head gasket and i tore into her...turns out it was the head gasket as you can see by the clean side of the head where the steam action of the burning antifreeze cleaned it up...other than that, i found out that the knock i was so worried about actually is piston slap, which sucks. so instead of doing a new top end right off i am going to finish out the drag season with the current one and just get one of those 1000$ esr 310's in january, which will give me something to look forward too in the spring, plus i cant really afford it right now cause i need to get sled gear for the winter since i just bought a storm 800, and i have no sled stuff...lol...o well, im not getting my bore jobs done there anymore.

Do you use the whole CR gasket or just the top layer? Might have had a head stud come loose? had one backed out just a little on my 86. Loctite saved the day.

I have never had good luck with those cr gaskets unless I decked the cyl and milled the head. You only need to clean it up so everything is flat again, then the single layer gasket seems to work well. Just my experience.
