As long as its gasoline you can run as high as you want without hurting anything. If you dont have a high comp motor, you will be throwing your money away. Just make sure it isn't oxygenated fuel, that requires different jetting and if you put that in and go without changing anything, you may have problems. The higher the octane, the cooler your motor will run, but if you are not in competition, or don't have a high comp motor, the little bit you will gain wont be worth the x-tra cost.
i heard higher octane than suggested by the manufacturer will actually hurt performance because higher the octane the slower it burns...

Yeah. Octane is actually something that slows down the burning of the gas. Pure gas will just ignite and be burnt instantly. The octane slows the burning down, therefore the more octane, the slower it burns. But the slower it burns, the more it pumps out. Thats why high-performance cars use high octane, but they are made for it. Unless your machine is made for it, there is no use.

I have ran regular pump gas and sunoco 110 gas in my Z and i can't tell no diffrence. If high octane gas was going to hurt an engine than it would have hurt mine by now.
