    250sx front end... make it a 200x, 250r, or 350x?

ok right now i'm watching a 350x front end on ebay and thought of all the front end conversions people have done. But i have seen only a handfull of 350x front end conversions and like 2 250r front end conversions. so my question is which is easier and better in the long run? I do alot of trail riding and jumping. I weight 230lb if that helps.

200x forks are just the right height, with 350x or 250r forks you will have to slide the forks up in the triples if you don't want it to look like a chopper. They should be pretty easy to do.

As far as the best forks for you.. I'd go with either the 350x or 250R forks, but you could get the 200x ones and put Progressive Springs... those springs are about $80.

I am getting ready to do a 200x swap onto one of my 250sxs. From everything I have seen from others conversions, the best front end is 86/87 200x.

You are correct, unfortunitly (sp?) those are harder to find. If you have to go with the 83-85 front end, put a 250r fender, looks alot better IMO (see pics).

The R fender is the red one yes.

The SX HL will NOT mount to the 250r, 350x, 200x forks properly, the forks are too narrow, so the HL plastic will bend. You can do it if you want, but I found it just looked wierd and a 350x HL looks way better, and of course gives better light.

I gotta disagree with you on that one Triker... if you flip the rubber straps (literally, take them off the headlight and reverse their position on the housing) they will fit a 200X front without bending the headlight plastic. Now, they are a bit wider than the X lights but they still look good... if money is no object go get a 350X light. Below are the pics of my trikes headlight "evolution"

Whats with the 86/87 front end desire???? The only difference I am aware of, is the steering stops. Other than that I thought they were similar to the 83/85 style.

250R or 350X front ends simply do not match the ride height in the back of the SX. But do whatever you wish.....

Hmmm... I never thought of that... cool!
I just put the 350x HL because I needed a new one for my 350x anyway, just used the old one on the SX.

The fender is different on the 86-87, similar to a 350x fender. Therefore it looks better then an 83-85; that's why I said to use an 85 250r fender, it looks better then a 83-85 200x fender.

Now, there is another advantage to using a 200x front end: if you ever decide you want a speedo, it will be easy to find; but if you went with a 350x or 250r front end, then it would be extremely difficult to find the speedo parts (and will cost you double the $$$$$).
