    Tri-z pics

6 months ago i had a chance to buy a near mint 86 Tri-z for $1000. I went with this tecate instead and not regretting it but I haven't seen any pics of any tri-z with the colors this one had. Anyone got pics of an 86 RED and Black Tri-z or was this a special one..I see alot of pics of yellow 85's but none black and red like this one I saw. Tired of searching forum for pics of one of these. thanx

If it was black and red from the factory it was a 1985 and 1/2 model. There's a few guys here that have them (I know orangecounty has one).

sorry for going off topic here, but whats the difference between the yellow and black '85 and the black and red '85 and 1/2 model?

Black and red model is... black and red.

Seriously though. The only other difference I can remember is the rims are polished aluminum instead of gold anodized.

Here is the daily rider... my 85 1/2 Tri Z. I purchased a new OEM style front tire, adjusted the forks and the handlebars since this pic. Oh, I also lost the vinyl lettering decals for the rear fenders and put speed & sport reproductions on them. The whole Z looks much better now.

Other smaller or lesser known companies, such as Tiger ATV, Franks, and Cagiva, produced racing three wheelers, but in much smaller numbers. Few of these machines are known to exist today and are highly sought by collectors.
