    Can I beat her?!

Hey guys, I have an 84' 200ES all stock except for a K&N air filter. My neighbor has a Kawasaki Bayou 220 and 250 both stock. The Bayou has a top speed of about 42MPH and the 250 probly a tad faster. My question is, if we ever raced...Who would win. Even though she's been riding allot longer then I have, I usualy can get on the throttle allot quicker than her and i've never seen her quads front end rise whereas I can easyily make it rise. I usualy always comes down to skill but I believe we're pretty close in that. So in this race its pretty much machine to machine...Shes always on the bayou 220 so i'm just wondering, if the 200es faster than that? Would I smoke her? THanks

You should be able to beat her. I know the top speed of both of my '83 ATC 200's is about 52 mph. Way faster than I ever would have expected.

I rode my first 200es this last sunday, what a blast! that little thing rips some awsome doughnuts, I'm not sure on how fast those 220's are but im guessing that you would win. One thing I do like is the low gear, i was climbing over 10 foot berms straight up, then doing it in reverse--my buddy and I were fighting over the big red and my R was getting jealous!

I don't have option of low/hi gear, but my YTM200 has a super low 1st gear and I can climb just about anything with it...unless it's too steep the front end will come up over me, lol....

OH YEAH, The 200es is a sweet all around machine. It had great top end and EXTREME torque. The LOW 1st gear will go about 10mph at most...And is AWSOME more creeping up STEEP banks. I've got a question...To wheelie high, I put it in neutral...Then shift it too First but hold it down and revv it then I lift up the shifter as it engages into 1st. And it WHEELIES...Is that ok? I believe its just poping the clutch, is that ok too? Thanks

Your low goes 10mph?? Thats fast for low. My SX went 8mph in first and my Foreman only goes about 6mph. Your wheelie technique sounds fine to me. It'd be like dropping the clutch on a manual.
[20:55] <waterpumper> putting a racing pipe on a Foreman is like putting a high dollar bikini on a 400 pound chick...just because it fits doesn't mean it looks cool

I can only go about 3-4 mph without revving the engine real high....

Wow, Well the low-low goes about 5 and the low-high goes about 10. It has a top speed of about 50 mph...

I was working on my starts and accelaration yesterday on a strait long development road...not many cars and very wide. Perfect for that. I would pull onto the road....Stop, put it in neutral, press down into first and hold it...Then revvv it and let off of the shifter and the front pops right up and i TAKE OFF...Then I let off on the throttle for a SPILT second to shift to 2nd, then I gun it and "split shift" to 3rd...gun it "split shift" to 4th...etc on up to 5th and I reach 5th really quick cause the way I accelarate its really fast, I hope i'm not doin any damage, I don't think I am but ahh well. Its about 200-250 ft of road way and I get maxed out then rapidly slow down...Shift down the 1st and start again going back the way I came. Its SO FUN!

I removed the airbox cover before all that and I notice some throttle response and its a ton louder, whys it so much louder?! lol. I want to make it loud cause it just makes it more fun to ride, lol. I've got a question. I use this trike for flying around...wheelieing and stuff like that...not for working purposes. So i've though of removing the front and rear racks...Should I do this? Is there anything else I can remove to cut down on weight and increase speed...Like the exaust... ???
I know it would be EXSTREMELY loud but what if I left the head pipe on? Or this this totaly insane? lol, Are there any other mods I can do to make it more powerfull, lighter, and louder by removing stuff, and without having to buy stuff to bolt on? Any info would be great! Thanks.

So does anyone have any suggestions on how to easily get a little more hp or throttle response? Thanks
