Today I bought an 83 or 84 250R for 100$, Is there any difference in an 83 and 84? It dosent have a seat, tank, back tires and wheels, pipe, and the axel is bent. He said it ran when it was parked. Will it hurt it to start it without a pipe?

what pipe is missing? the silencer or expansion chamber? i wouldnt start it without the Expansion Chamber on, no back pressure, with a high risk of hurtin that air cooled motor
search around on the classifieds, i am sure someone on here will sell yea an axle, pipe and some rims for next to nothin, and then go out and buy some nice Maiers or soemthing for it

Its the expansion chamber. Is there any difference in the 83 and 84 R's. What type of oil should I run and what ratio? What kind of oil do you put in the transmission and how much? i will get pics in the morning.
