Man. She's a real nice example. I have an 86 too in Black and red. They're great trikes.
I was wondering if you'd mind taking a nice close up of the rear disc set up on your trike. Mine has been worked on by a shadetree mechanic at some point and has all sorts of brackets and junk making it work/holding it together. It'd be appreciated to see how it was set up from the factory on a mint example.
Good score on the price BTW.
I like, I like, I like. Very nice YamahaI wish mine looked as nice as that.

Hello everyone! thanks for all the kind words about my bike. I just finished cleaning the frame and everything, and here are the finished pics. it took me forever to get all the film and greasy residue off of the frame and undercarriage. but I think it looks very good now. I will post those pics of the rear disc setup later on so you can hopefully work your brake problems out. I would really like to find another set of plastic to cover with camo vinyl graqphics for when I take it trailriding that way i could save the nice factory plastic. I have a front carrier rack on the way and I hope to get installed and then I will be happy. total investment so far with this bike is as follow: purchase price$750.00 4-nos mudflap screws(to replace missing ones) $4.50 front rack from a member on these forums $35.00 new front tire from wal-mart $32.00 1-swingarm bolt plastic cover $2.00 and 1-rubber gas tank hold-down strap (old one was broke) $5.50 nos painted the headpipe and muffler with high-temp paint $5.00 for the paint. I am very happy with this bike. it runs and rides like new! I am 33 years old so three-wheelers are what I came up on, I have had alot of different three wheelers over the years and other than the 350X I had back in '93 this is my favorite. I have had the following three-and four wheelers: 1982 Honda 110 that my parents bought for me brand new in '82. 1984 Honda 200, 1985 yamaha tri-z-250, 1985 Honda atc 350X (my all time favorite 3-wheeler) 1985 honda 250 big red, 1995 Polaris Xplorer 400 4x4 and some misc. dirtbikes, crotch-rockets, and cruiser bikes etc. thrown in over the years
here are a few more pics for you guys.

That is for sure one of the nicest 225's out there that ive seen. It looks to hardly ever been ridden. How come I never find sweet deals like that. I bet you could double your money on that. I wouldnt though. That is one of the better Trikes to ever grace the face of this earth and yours looks like its been hiding from the dirt. Great collector piece.![]()

Thanks for all the compliments! I would like to get a set of polished aluminum rims maybe 9-inchers and run some better tires than the chevrons in the back and the knobby in the front. anybody have any suggestions? are three lug rims available for this in a polished finish? I am going to order the cobra pipe for it from Dennis Kirk next week and then leave it alone and just ride and enjoy! I don't know about anybody else but, when I ride a three wheeler it really takes me back to my youth when I had no troubles or worries and just would go riding to be riding. that was all I wanted to do. maybe some of you guys are around my age (33) and remember a time when there were no 4-wheelers only three-wheelers and dirtbikes! the 80's Were an Awsome time to grow up in!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey guy, yeah that's good that you are getting the cobra exhaust system..it's a great economical upgrade from stock and gives better performance too. I just recently purchase a pair of spidertracs for my big red for the rear and am putting a mudlite on the front. Edog claims that mudlites are great all around on is tri-moto, you may want to consider them...I was just a kid in the 80's but I had an older cousin who lived on 12 acres of land and we rode 3 wheelers then 4 wheelers when they started becoming popular. Those were the days...gas was less than a $1 a gallon too!
