    REAL nice Honda XR250R

I found this bike (in Sweden) a mint Honda XR250R -97. Only 200 miles. Hes asking alot, 3000$. But the bike looks like new! Could it be worth the money?

I have also found a Kawasaki KDX220R -97 for 2000$, but that bike is not mint.

Which bike is the best? 2-stroke or 4-stroke...Honda or Kawasaki ???

hey man its horses for courses you know? I mean for longer trips a 4stroke will be really good while a 2stroke is better for short distances. Im not saying you cant go cross country on a two stroke its just the sound of a two stroke. Just different bikes for different places. Personally i would take the 2stroke

I'd take the 220 over the XR, better woods bike, no hot start issues.

Kawasaki, ooooohhhhhhhh ouch! The dent in the pipe, The makeshift brake for $2000? I say even if the Kawie was mint, I'd still go with the honda.

    Stick with the honda.

You will sink double the price you paid for the kawie in repairs and maintenance and the honda will only need Gas.

reliability vs a bit more power.

    get the reliable one !
    Currently :

85 ATC - 250 SX, Pride and Joy, Bottom-Less Money Pit.

KDX's are plenty reliable, my dads 95 is on the stock top end, runs like new. Don't be a Honda Nazi, you can buy a new pipe or freeze the dent out.

thats a little harsh don't you think?

I mean the four stroke isnt that great, also pretty complicated. Take the KDX and save 1grand to spend on a new pipe. Seems you are at a crossroad my friend.

That KDX is beat, and there's no way it's worth 2 grand. I myself am a Honda fan, and that XR is sweet, real hard to find in that shape. However, a KDX would probably be a lot more fun since it has tons more power and the 2 stroke snap. I would not buy that one though. If you decide you want a KDX, keep looking for another one. That one's been rode hard and put away wet.

I agree that the KDX has been ridden hard alright, but if it's 2-stroke power you want then just lowball the guy and see what happens!

I will say this.....you will get bored of a xr250r in not much time, especailly a stock one. I have one, ported/polished, cam, carberator, pipe, and now is getting the front forks reworked(it started with changing of springs and oil, blown seal and for some reason one fork sits higher than the other). the power isn't there, the bike is fun and is a great dual sport bike(what I use it for), cruises at about 70 offroad, but feels like a go-cart campred to my crf450r quad. And the suspension(well I will post back when I have the fronts finished), but a must is a src fork brace, as the forks flex.
