thank you. should be nicer when im done with it but looks 100x better then it did when i first got it. the 250r has original plastics on it but i really want to change to black plastics
just dont want to part with the cash since the plastics on there are in great shape.

Good looking trike. Is that 250R tank stock. For some weird reason, it dosen't seem stock to me.. maybe (and probably) I'm just going nuts.

no its not a stock tank. its a 4.5 gallon dessert tank. made by ims i beleive. only problem is the previous owner im guessing left it out in the sun and its an orange color that i hate. lol im trying to figure a way to restore the color thinking about trying to re-dye it or maybe have it painted

If its plastic, you can repaint it. I was looking stuff up on automotive paint the other day, and I found quite a few places that told you how to paint plastic with automotive paint. Just look it up and see what you can find..

i was thinking about that however a few people have stated that the fuel inside the tank will let vapors through that will eat the paint dont know how true this is but thats my only dillema

Mmm yes. I totally forgot about it. I don't know what, but I was thinking that the only problem was painting the plastic, for some reason. Yes.. plastic does leak gas vapors and stickers/paint will not stick to it. Nevermind.. lol.. sorry. I don't think you have many choices on re-coloring it though.

i was considering taking it to a place localy that does the vinyl graphics that they put on buses and promotinal/ show cars and seeing if they could cover it with some of that vinyl they use i know they have a carbon fiber pattern that is very popular with the import car guys, i thought that would look awesome if they could do it a carbon fiber look tank and black plastics would make this trike look mean imo

Nope. No kind of sticker will stay on the tank. The gas vapors leak through the plastic, therefore nothing that adheres to the tank will stay there for long. Go out and stick some scotch tape to your tank. I bet within a week it will start to peel off.

do a search there is a couple threads about restoring faded or scratrched up plastics. when i bought my 250r the previos owner had painted the faded tank and all the paint was falling off. So I restored it and it came out like new. It looked like it had just came off the assembly line not fadded or one scrach on it. Its a little bit of a pain but its well worth it
