My New Horn On The Red

I was a bit bored and found this horn out at the wreckers.

So I decided to ditch the stock 250es horn and use this better much louder airhorn. It is heaps good and will be ample for mustering cattle.

Looks good , if it pumps out enough air and your brakes fail you could use it to slow the trike down.

Im just using the stock horn button for the bigreds. Its just a generic horn, it is meant to have dual tones but I just put on the single one. It was basically just make some brackets, plug and play.

Oh yeh, I still have the stock horn here doing nothing.

I did not think the big red had a horn stock? Mine does not. I would like to see a pic of the stock horn and button.

The 85-88 European and Australian model 250es', which were called "Super Reds", had the horn.

The US 250es "Bigred" never had a horn, they might have come about in late 87 - 88 but it is very rare to find a 88 250es in America.

One Picture shows the horn button. And the next shows my 87 parts 'super red', the horn is under the helmet holder sticker at the front, the thing with all holes in it.

I used all the 87 wiring on my 85 because it had the stock horn plugs etc.

    Hope this helps.

Cool. I got a horn button like that with the 84 parts red, I am going to use it. I have a 12V horn off of a old Datsun Pickup I used to have, figured I would wire it up. Its cool to know it is kinda stock.

Oh man, I am not a big fan or very familiar of the Big Red, but the "super red" looks AWESOME! Is it chain driven and it has a swing arm/full suspension? It sort of makes me want to get one. But it just isnt fast enough. Looks sick though! To bad honda didn't get rid of that ugly front suspension in 87-88.

The 250es "Super Red" is exactly the same as the 250es "Big Red", it just has diffrent stickers and diffrent accessories such as a horn.

Its not chain driven but has full suspension like all 250es'

Yeh the muffler is off a car. My 85 also has a diffrent muffler made by "Musket", it is a New Zeland company, it looks the exact same as stock.

The second set of footpegs are someones sorry job of trying to fix the rusted out frame. It is just water pipe

    Not very smart!
