i owned this quad at one time the entire electrical stystem has been replaced , then the carb builds up so much heat under the tanka nd it vaporizes the fuel in the fuellike and the floatbowl and doesnt run verry well but if you run it wot constantly and move enough fuel trough it it runs fine. belive me thats why my girl friend coudl never rid eit but the transmission was totaly trashed. blew it into a million pieces. so dont jump it it will blow it apart.

try rynnign it without the plastic shrouds arounjd the motor or front plastics i am certin it runs alot better. try it and belive me .i actualy wanted to build vents to let alot more air flow trough it but it wouldnt have helped from what i use dto do with it. 95% of the riding i did was deep mud.

my brother in law had one of these 600 grizzes. he had loads of problems with it.take the side plastic covers off.they just run too hot.another thing to check is,the tubes coming off the bottom of the carbs.they get clogged with mudd and wont let the float bowl fill back up.the tubes run down between the frame and swing arm.take them off and blow thru them. make sure they are clear.he also had a problem with the wiring harness, but you said your is new.some coneections melted under the front plastic by the steering stem.also, your valves,if adjusted too tight,as the motor gets hot,the stem of the valve expands.this will in turn push the valves some what off the seats, cuasing a loss of seal at the valve seats until they cool back down.if the motor ticks alot, then it is possible that the timing chain is worn and someone adjusted the valves too tight trying to get rid of the ticking noise.hope this stuff helps.i would check those tubes on the bottom of the carb first.very common problem.
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

So which one of you guys beat this thing into submission?

Moshman... Thanks for the advice. At the moment the quad is buried in the garage again as i recently moved and haven't had a chanche to work on it. But I will look into these things that you mentioned.
