MY friends aunt bought 2 200m's at a garge sale 3 years ago. i dont know the years 84 or 85 (looked at the stearing stem but stickers are gone). the question is one of the 200m's the gearing is 5 up and the other one one is 5 down. Did some one screw with the transmision? Or these could be different years. They look identical to each other. The one that is 5 up is way faster than the one with 5 down. Can anyone tell me how this could happen.

are you sure they are both 200M's??
the one with the 5 down sounds like a 200 plain/s

84 was 5 down 85 was 5 up, i know for a fact case my friend has both.

Check carefully with the one that goes 5 up.. it might be a 250 ( either big red ES or an SX ) Does the 5 up have rear suspension by any chance ?

82 ATC - 200, plain jane, almost mint. ( Sold, 03-17-2005)
84 ATC - 200 ES, Jimmy-Rigged, don't ask.( Sold, 03-17-2005)
85 ATC - 250 SX, Pride and Joy, Bottom-Less Money Pit.
84 125 M - The Mini-SXnot running yet. but won't be long.

no there hard tails, they have no suspension. They both look alike, the stickers say 200m on both. Both chain drive i think! I know the one with 5 up has a chain drive, both have eletric start.
