    250R wont pull 6th!

    Went down to the dunes today! Bike ran awesome for the most part.Pulls hard though all the gears till i get to 6th..In 6th it just bogs down! Now is this something i have to deal with or could it be a gearing problem or a jet problem? Did 3 plug chops and they all came out kinda dark, but not to bad..My gearing is stock 13/39.Could i bump up my rear to a 41 or jet down another size? Or is this just something i have to live with.......Thanks!

    Fox, when you say your R won't pull 6th, where exactly are you riding, on the flat, cruising the dunes, or shooting comp hill? It should easily pull 6th on the flat, but probably not on the hill. But, if you're running too much tire for your motor, that could be some or all of the problem.

    On the beach flat out! Pulls 5th no prob, but when i hit 6th it bogs down....Im about 195 so i dont think weight should be a problem..

    Based off of the plug readings and the long gear die off - It does sound like you are too high on your main - just a little. I would drop down one size. Are you running an open air-box?. If you arn't, you might try taking a run with the lid off before rejetting to see if that clears it up. If it does - you are too high on the main. It could be fuel delivery related too - but - I'm leaning twords Jetting. Always check your cap breather tube too - that simple sucker has caused so many people headaches on here in the past.

    i dont have an airbox and im running a 172 but i just dropped to a 170 and im going to the dunes this weekend to try her out And my cap breather is perfect...

    What type and size paddles are you runnin. Try really revin'n it out in 5th and shift it quickly into 6th and see if you cant pull it. I know blazers 250r had no probelm pullin 6th and it had a pipe and lighten'd flywheel, If I rember right you have done a lot more to yours.
