I am going to be shipping my complete 200x engine in the next few days and I was wondering what the best way to go about crating it up would be. I want it to be safe on it journey to its new home! Thanks

I personally use a tote for a complete motor.
Howdy
I have placed a sheet of plywood on the bottom and used those plastic containers you can get at wall mart/myers store. screwed the top on after using alot of bubble wrap around the sides + top. I also marked it as fragile ,,,, indicated "upright only" on the sides also.

I've shipped about 8 or 9 motors in the past two years. I've had the best luck with storage totes. The only problem is UPS charges an extra $15 since its not in a cardboard box.

I never thought of doing it that way( With the totes). I will definatley have to make a trip to the store this week and look as some.
i just sent a 250r motor in a rubber maid tote as long as it is less then the 70lbs the post office can take it otherwise i have shipped threw the ups i have never been charged additional money because of the rubbermaid tote. i have found this to be the best way. never had a problem in the many motors and other items i have sent.. just drill holes and zip tie the lid down cant beat it good luck
With Purolator Courier .. you get charged an extra 10 $ for special handling with certain totes.. beleive it or not. it's true.
Try and keep the size no bigger than you have to.. with a motor this is usually not as big of an issue as it weighs alot.. but there is a thing called " Cubing ".. wich means.. if a package is over a certain size( apros 12 x 12 x 12 inches ) it goes thru a formula
L x W x H ( in inches ) Devided by 1728
Multiply by 10 for ground
or
Multiply by 15 for air
= Cubic weight.
ex: 1 box 10 lbs.. in a 22 x 14 x 30 box. = 53.5 Lbs Ground or 80.2 lbs AIR..
wich ever is higher.. actual weight or cubic weight.. gets billed.
great ain't it !
