86 200x cam ......xr cam???

i was told that a cam out of a 200xr up till i think the years of 97 would work in my 200x and give it a little more power... about 2 weeks later i found a almost 1990 200xr all torn apart but w/ all parts ....looked at the cam and looks nothing like the cam out of my x ....sprocket sizes are differnt and it has about a 2 inch..... rod comming out of the middle of the cam from the xr that can not fit into the x .... is there anything i have to do ...take the sprocket off and swap them???? or is it not for the 86=87 years or what someone please help thanks

The XR cam will work in the '83-'85 200X, NOT the '86-'87.

Use a Web-Cam... for $120 I think it is well worth it. There is another brand I like I think it is called mega cam or mega cycle or something like that.
