    125M good trikes??

Hello all. I have a chance to get my hand on a Honda ATC125M for a really good price. I went to look at it today and it seems to be in good condition. The guy selling it said it did run but when he went to use the electric start it would always blow a fuse. I am guessing thers is a short somewhere between the starter, the key and the battery. Are these good trikes? I am a honda fan ever since I owned a 250 SX, but I was wondering if there were any noterd things that would go wrong with them? I am most likely going to purchase it soon. Any help on the starting issue and any comments on the trike would really help.

    125 M Rules

The 125 M is an awesome trike. Its got that Hi/Low Gearing option and its a great workhorse if the need arrises. I pulled my tractor out of the mud hole in the back lawn with a flat tire on it.I had just bought it, it hadnt ran before me for allmost a year. The motor is Bullet Proof as far as I have ever Known and they are great little Trail Trikes. Heres mine, stock but the Tires and rims.

The 125m is a good trike. They are light and reliable but remember that it is a 125. You won't have a problem with low end but they are slow. As long as your not looking for a sport trike it would be a good trike to get.

i am not looking for a sport trike. i had the 250SX and i beat on it. No problems with anything except for there was no third gear and it has a plastic lawnmower gastank on the front. I think I am going to go with the 125M because it is cheap (under 100 dollars) and it should run with the pullstart. The trike will be for wheelies and mud/trail/snow riding. pretty much keep it stock and have fun.

allright i am pretty confident that I am buying it, so now i will ask why does it blow a fuse everytime you try the electric start? will this make it unable to run at all or does it mean i cant use the electric start??

It just means that you can't use the electric start. And my guess would be that two wires are touching somewhere that shouldn't be, and when you press the "Start" button, it completes the circuit and blows the fuse. Just my guess though.. I don't know..

What year 125m are you looking at BTW?

Like others have said its not really a sport trike. If you are gonna use it for casual trail riding or yard work or some lighter duty farm work its a killer machine. The Hi/Lo is a huge bonus. I have had mine for a few years, and its unbreakable. I have put it through it paces and then some, but it has never given me trouble. I have tons of hours on it (all original too) and the I have yet to have a clutch or tranny problem.

I like the little 125's myself. they arent very fast but they are sure fun to ride. An 84 125m is what i got my first real trike ride time in on.
