Question How to install new battery--200E 1984

    Hi,

I've got a Yahama 200E 1984, and the suggested battery--YB14AA2--seems way too big for the area where I believe the old battery was stationed. I'm not in good health, and need the electric start to tinker around in order to get the thing running again. When I brought it home--a week ago--it ran fine. All I've done to the trike is adjust the idle and sand paper the plug when it didn't start.
Any help will be very appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jede

One way to do it is to remove the battery.. take it with you to the battery place of your choice and have them match it up.. at the same time they can test it for you and if it indeed needs replacing you can leave the old one to be recycled.

However... test it yourself first if you have a volt meter.. set it to V-DC and you should get a reading of 12.8 to 13.5 volts ish...

the battery is not needed to make the machine run, at least start it first and make sure it's not something silly like the run switch or the vent on the gas tank etc...
